Purpose-Built. Battle-Tested.
Why Anglers Trust Anvil
OUR STORY
A Company Driven By A Passion for the Sport
Founded in 2018, Anvil Rods has emerged as a “Best in Class” company that designs and builds rods for fishing enthusiasts, by fishing enthusiasts. The goal was to fulfill a niche in the conventional fishing rod market, with a product that filled an unconventional need. This is when Anvil Rods stepped up and said, “We get it,” and decided to give Anglers what they deserved.
OUR STORY
A Humble Beginning
So, the seeds were sown to create a line of purpose-built rods that took carefully selected blanks, match them up with reliable components and manufacture affordable, yet very functional rods. The next step was to put them through the paces with expert anglers until we get their stamp of approval. Our tournament tested rods hold up in the harshest conditions, while fighting some of the toughest fish that swim. Our family of die-hard pro staff has invested many hours testing and abusing our rods and gear to make sure they outperform our expectations – because we wouldn’t sell you something we wouldn’t use ourselves. We stand by our products, and that’s the way it should be.
OUR STORY
And The Story Continues
Now, as 2025 is moving forward, people ask more about our beginning. My name is Paul Cypher Jr. The picture here is of myself, back as one of the first pro staff members with Anvil Rods under the previous owner. As William Stewart, Jason Heinbaugh, and I chased three trails across the USA, we met many friends along the way, and the purchase of Anvil Rods in 2021 was decided.
Dealing with the loss of my father, the pandemic, a new business, and buying the 60-acre family farm made the first few years a lot tougher. Now, four years later, we have redesigned the look of Anvil Rods and started Reactive Fishing Line Company, carrying many anglers’ favorite braid and monofilament.
We also started building and testing new prototypes in-house, designing performance-specific freshwater and saltwater rods that will be coming out as soon as research and development approves them.
